This is probably the hardest/longest achievement in the game. I managed to get the Red deer and Puma without having to farm them. You may come across diamonds for other animals while hunting them.

I would recommend focusing on one animal at a time. I followed method 2 as finding the new need zones can be painfully boring. If you don’t leave the game, new animals wont spawn until 7 in-games days have passed.

Following either method once you’ve hunted atleast 2, backing out to the menu and loading back in will respawn the animals you’ve killed with new levels. (The need zones are easy to find for these) 2) Hunt 2 (Up to 4 with the tripod) of the highest level males in each zone and then move to the next need zone. There are 2 main methods: 1) Hunt every male you see, killing regardless of the need zones (needs zones will move locations if the heat zones become too much) - If you have high heat zones (bright purple) go to the top right corner of the map and head down the right side of the map killing as many Water Buffalo as possible. Eventually a max level will spawn with a high likelihood of a diamond. The way to get diamonds to spawn is to hunt the males of each animal. I would highly recommend you buy the Treestand & Tripod DLC, the tripod is extremely useful for keeping hunting pressure low as well as having a height advantage.

Use the dots as a rough guide to where you will find need zones for certain animals. Note: The score for the Blackbuck is incorrect, a diamond rating is 28.3 This map was rather accurate for me: The numbers shown are the minimum score required for diamond. This will help you determine if the animal is a potential diamond. If you unlock the 2nd level of Spotting Knowledge you can see the potential rating for the animal. Score Score is the rating required for diamond. The levels shown are the maximum level possible for the animal. The level of the animal can be checked when spotting. A max level wont always mean it’s diamond rated. Levels When hunting you are looking out for the maximum level of each animal. 243 with polymer-tip bullets (Beginning Rifle) - Class 5+ (Puma, Mule deer, Red deer & Water Buffalo) – 7mm Regent with polymer-tip bullets. Class 3 (Axis deer & Blackbuck) – Ranger. Examples: - Class 1 (Cinnamon Teal) – Shotgun with birdshot. This can be checked by looking at the ammo for your weapon in the inventory screen. To get a diamond you need to make sure that you are within the class range.

*** Spoiler - click to reveal *** Class Class refers to the weapon/ammo you use.
